Flamenco/Sevillanas

Basic technique and terminology of flamenco with emphasis on footwork and use of castanets. Also, basic regional folk dances such as jotas. Learn the four coplas of forms of Sevillanas danced today. Sevillanas, often called "the mother of many Spanish dance," are currently being danced in many of the nightclubs and Latin tablaos in Washington D.C. today. Although each copla is increasingly more elaborate, Sevillanas are fun to learn and can be danced as a couple or solo.
