DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Reports to: Executive Director


SUMMARY
Responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of Art For People operations, for both
the school and the administrative functions. Provide leadership and coordination in the administr-
ative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of Art For People activities. Develops
and implements the financial strategy, financial planning and financial policies of the organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include budgeting, tax planning, real estate, and conservation of assets.

2.

Establish the financial strategies for investment and growth of organization revenues.

3.

Create the organizations financial plan.

4.

Set up all financial and accounting procedures.

5.

Set up Art For People school tuition processes and procedures.

6.

Set up Art For People school tuition processes and procedures.

7.

Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the company.

8.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.

9.

Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry.

10.

Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.

11.

Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.

12.

Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.

Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.

15.

Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.

16.

Assist in obtaining the necessary licenses and insurance required to start a non-profit organization.

17.

Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas.

18.

Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

19.

Serve on planning and policy-making committees.

20.

Oversee financial management of foreign operations to include developing financial and budget policies and procedures.

21.

Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1.

Commitment to the goals and philosophy of Art For People.

2.

Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for both the for-profit and non-profit world. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require frequent weekend
and evening work. Work may require frequent overnight travel
