COMMUNITY OUTREACH MANAGER
Reports to: Director of Administration and Operations


SUMMARY
Manage, plan and implement programs designed to advance the objectives of Art For People as related to community outreach. Serve as the key liaison between the organization and community based groups and organizations. Plan and direct all volunteer activities.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Manage, plan and implement programs designed to advance the objectives of Art For People as related to community outreach.

2.

Based on the mission and goals of Art For People, develop projects to maintain and advance student, performer and community relations.

3.

Serve as the key liaison between the organization and community based groups and organizations.

4.

Manage and promote ongoing outreach projects with hospitals, schools, retirement communities, hospices, and community groups utilizing the student and performers of the school and performing arts center.

5.

Manage the operational and budgetary aspects of all community outreach projects. Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the community outreach programs.

6.

Supervise ongoing community outreach projects and develop solutions to enhance effectiveness and popularity of projects.

7.

Plan and execute special events that serve to enhance and advance student, performer and community relations.

8.

Provide creative and information support for organization publications, including the website, in order to advance the objectives of Art For People.

9.

Coordinate with organization staff, and school administrators on projects which enhance student, performer and community relations.

10.

Recruit, manage, train and supervise all volunteers for all areas of the organizations operations.

12.

Conduct interviews, and provide volunteer orientation.

13.

Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews.

14.

Responsible for volunteer scheduling to include: work assignments/rotations.

15.

Communicate with senior management on all activities.

16.

Other duties as assigned.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Serve as member of school management team.

2. Schedule and coordinate tours of school and performing arts facility.



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1.

Commitment to the goals and philosophy of Art For People.

2.

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge and contacts in the health, education and recreation and performing arts communities, and previous experience with community based organizations. This is normally acquired through a Bachelors degree in liberal arts or equivalent.

3.

Knowledge of office processes, procedures, and technology. Experience in supervising project and team activities. Ability to read and interpret accounting and financial reports. Three to five years of community outreach experience which includes supervisory responsibility.

4.

Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.



WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require frequent weekend and evening work. Work may require frequent overnight travel.
